A no good very sad day

"I do an awful lot of thinking and dreaming about things in the past and the future — the timelessness of the rocks and the hills — all the people who have existed there," he once said. "I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape — the loneliness of it — the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn't show. I think anything like that — which is contemplative, silent, shows a person alone — people always feel is sad. Is it because we've lost the art of being alone?" -Andrew Wyeth

My heart aches a little. Go here for the obit.

It is a sad day, but how wonderful that we get to enjoy him always through his works. He was a favorite of mine also.

I had no idea, I'm way out of the loop since I canceled cable tv! How very sad indeed!

Amongst my typical day of play and complete lack of any connection to the outside adult world...I'm only learning of this great loss here. I've been meaning to visit The Brandywine River Museum for years. Having it right in my backyard - now I MUST go!!!

I love the quote you used...I had not heard of this artist but that quote and then the art drew me in. May he rest in peace.
