workin' on it.

I've spent my day off doing something productive for once and it feels damn good. Our old coffee table needed some new love and a little pick-me-up after many years of use and abuse, so I sanded down what seemed like an abnormal amount of polyurethane and cleaned the wood up a bit. Two layers of stain later and we're lookin' much better now. I took pictures of what it looked like before, but have yet to take the "after" shots. As it is, I'm on staining duty in a dimly lit kitchen. Tomorrow morning, though, after we've made our way out of a fumed induced coma, I'll take some new pictures and post 'em here. This was a lot of work (I underestimated the job by a long shot) but well worth it. Can't wait to get it up on its legs and put the handles on the drawers. It will indeed be a good thing. My little house is shaping up one room at a time.

Before:

Yeah, we're a bit hard on our furniture.
